At GRUPO FARO, we are committed to the protection and conservation of the environment
At GRUPO FARO, we are committed to protecting and conserving the environment and preventing pollution. To fulfill this commitment, we have implemented a Management System in accordance with the guidelines of the UNE-EN ISO 14001:2015 standard.
To minimize the environmental impacts derived from GRUPO FARO's activities, senior management has decided to implement and maintain an environmental management system, certified according to ISO 14001:2015. This involves rigorous monitoring of all applicable environmental legislation and control of all generated aspects, taking appropriate measures to ensure continuous improvement.
The environmental monitoring of GRUPO FARO is primarily based on the following principles:
Compliance with current legislation:
GRUPO FARO has established a procedure to identify all applicable legislation, incorporate legislative changes, and evaluate compliance with all legal requirements, thereby ensuring that applicable regulations are met at all times.
Training and awareness:
All GRUPO FARO personnel have actively participated in an environmental awareness campaign, and environmental training actions are planned annually to ensure that personnel are aware of all environmental requirements they must meet during the performance of their duties.
Reduction of supply consumption:
- Make rational use of water in the facilities.
- Make rational use of electrical energy.
- Make rational use of fuel by following efficient driving guidelines.
- Make efficient use of office paper and toner, prioritizing digital documentation, trying to print only essential documents, and reusing paper where possible.
The quantities of various raw materials consumed are monitored, and reduction targets are set based on the results obtained.
Minimization of waste generated:
The process is controlled to generate the least amount of waste, both at the time of purchasing raw materials and products, where criteria such as the amount of packaging material waste are considered, and during the provision of the service.
Purchasing control and supplier evaluation:
GRUPO FARO has defined environmental criteria for the products and services required to provide the service. All suppliers have been informed of the environmental standards to be met.
Correct action in case of emergency:
GRUPO FARO has established emergency action protocols for fire situations in both vehicles and facilities, spills or discharges, and traffic accidents. All these action protocols have been communicated to all personnel, and emergency drills for the aforementioned situations are periodically conducted to ensure that the established protocol works and is known and applied by all personnel in the organization.
Absorbent material is available in chemical storage areas, which will be used in case of a spill and, once used, will be managed as hazardous waste through an authorized manager.
GRUPO FARO's facilities have the necessary fire protection equipment, which is internally reviewed quarterly and maintained by an authorized maintenance company with the frequency established in current legislation.
Continuous improvement
Annually, GRUPO FARO evaluates the applicable environmental aspects, identifying significant aspects, which are communicated to the entire staff.
Within the environmental management system, performance indicators have been defined, which are monitored to demonstrate continuous improvement, and corrective measures are established if necessary.
Environmental objectives are established annually, associated with environmental aspects considered significant, to ensure the continuous improvement of the environmental management system.
Upon detection of any non-compliance or incident, GRUPO FARO initiates corrective actions to rectify the issue and address its cause, preventing its recurrence.
